Description |
Four Shoo Fly blocks (2 across, 2 down) on point in double pink, black and black/white prints. These are arranged to visually form circles. The nine alternating blocks are all Nine Patch blocks in black, white and red prints, also on point. Setting triangles are tiny scale black, cream and white prints, several of which are a moire pattern. Narrow inner border in double pink. Wider outer border in grey chambray with nine patch corners trimmed to rectangles. Each has a double pink center and is made of black and white prints. Grey chambray straight binding. Matching grey chambray hanging sleeve on the back. Cream cotton back, possibly an antique sack. Quilting: pieced blocks are outline quilted. Setting triangles are quilted with a starburst. Inner border has linear quilting. Outer border quilted with a diagonal grid 1/2" apart. Predominant colors: Gray, white, red, black Techniques: hand pieced, hand quilted A provenance label is also on the back. |
