Provenance |
Elsie Dalley purchased the kit, which was in a hat box of assorted sewing items, at an Auction held by John Warfel, assisted by Barbara Brown, at 922 and 926 South Washington St., Marion, Indiana, on October 20, 1984. John Warfel was preparing to move out of 922 S. Washington St., next door to the former home of the Websters at 926 S. Washington St. The Warfels had bought #926 when the Websters moved in 1942. Email from Rosalind Perry to Dale Drake 23 May 2018: "Connie Burke spotted it at the home of her friend Elsie Dailey and realized it was a Webster design. She persuaded Elsie to donate it. ... the kit in the hat box may have been an unfinished project of John's mother. More info on kits is on pages 22 and 23 of "Marie Webster's Garden of Quilts", along with a photo of one of the Pink Dogwood blocks." |
