A display panel of 15 quilt blocks mounted on solid gray cotton. The individual blocks are attached to the underlying panel with basting stitches at the top of each block. The panel was created by The Quilters Hall of Fame for an exhibition titled "Evidences of Friendships: The Quilt Block Collection of Cuesta Benberry, St. Louis Missouri:. It hung in the Marion Public Library during Celebration Week in 1999.. The exhibition was curated by Hazel Carter, the founder of The Quilters Hall of Fame and sponsored by Karen Alexander of Vienna, VA. The blocks are from the collection of Cuesta Benberry who was an African-American quilt historian and researcher; The blocks on this panel were all made by several of Cuesta's friends and Round Robin correspondent. |
