Description |
Gay Garden block with intertwined dark green and three-petalled flowers in shades of blue, rose and lavender on a white background. Narrow inner border in two colors of lavender. Outer border of a gold enhanced pansy print in purple, lavender, yellow and green. This fabric is also used for backing and binding. The back has a white hanging sleeve applied and a custom label. Within a printed wreath of flowers is a handwritten label: " Gay Garden Made for the Silent Auction The Quilters Hall of Fame Celebration July 16-19, 2009 Eleanor J. Eckman Lutherville, Maryland." Hand quilting is in diagonal lines through a thin but dense batt, average of six stitches per inch in white thread. The diagonal quilting lines in each quadrant intersect to form chevrons in the center. |
