Description |
An unfinished quilt top, based on or inspired by the "Poppy" design by Marie Webster, appliqued on one unseamed white muslin backing. The center poppy spray is comprised of four quadrants. Each quadrant of the center medallion has two pink poppy flowers, two pink poppy buds, one partially opened poppy flower and one green pod, The quadrants come together with five green leaves and a small poppy bud in the center Each outer corner contains a poppy plant with the leaves at the edges and the flowers "growing" diagonally toward the center. The plant consists of one poppy flower, 14-15 inches tall, a partially opened bud to the right and a pod to the left of the central flower. There is a serrated leaf one each side of the central stem. Each of the four sides has four poppy plants comprising a border. Each plant is composed of a central poppy flower and stem,15 inches tall. To the left of each center poppy is an unopened bud, and to the right of each flower, there is also a partially opened bud on a stem. On the outside of each flower stem is a green serrated leaf. |
