Description |
Single stalk with sunflower, bud and three leaves. Background is dark cream with white mini-dots. Sunflower has two yellow fabrics, one print and one solid. Center and bud have two brown print fabrics. Leaves and calix have two green fabrics, one print and one solid. Binding is a sunflower print on dark blue. Backing is a pastel floral print. Label is attached: "Sunflower, a Marie Webster Design, hand applique and quilting by Zetta Hole Hanna, 1993, Santa Barbara, CA." Large hanging sleeve attached at top with machine embroidered "Zetta M. Hanna 1993". Hand appliqued and hand quilted. Applique is well done. Background is hand quilted in a diagonal lattice pattern in white thread at nine stitches per inch through a thin batt. Hand quilting also defines the petals and leaf veins |
