Description |
The quilt field on a white ground comprises a blue flower basket with multiple flowers and leaves in various pastel colors accented with read. The basket lattice is embellished with an embroidery stitch that looks like a package and bow. The basket has a light salmon and gold bow. Surrounding the basket in an oval configuration are 22 blue and yellow stylized flowers. Surrounding these is an oval wreath of stylized flowers and leaves in the same pastel colors with red accent as found in the basket. There is a 1.25" light rose inner border, the pieces of which extend to the edge of the outer border. The outer border is a 1.25" light green strip, and between these is a 7" continuation of the white ground. The image is constructed using 1" squares appliqued to the field to create a pixelated image. The two borders are also appliqued to the field. The back is a light pink, which is brought to the front for a binding. A muslin hanging sleeve has been applied. The inner portion of the field is hand quilted in 1" squares in white thread at 12 stitches to the inch. The field between the two borders is a series of feathers backed by straight line quilting 1" apart. The corners have a feathered flower motif backed by 1" grid quilting and the grid crosses the center of the flower. |
