Description |
Hand appliqued motif of two girls with long dresses and sunbonnets, one holding a parasol, facing each other in front of a quilted picket fence. The ground below them is five alternating pink and cream stripes. The girls themselves are shown in profile, one in a yellow and slate blue outfit, and the other in solid and print lilac with yellow accents and yellow parasol. The bosoms and arms are solid peach. Cream muslin background and quilt back. Three sides have straight cut cream muslin binding. The lower edge is bound in pink to match the last stripe. Hand written label on back: "Sunbonnet Lassies." Quilting on the sky is paired diagonal lines one inch apart in white thread at eight stitches per inch. Central portion has a quilted picket fence with pencil outlines showing. The lower striped portion is quilted in zigzags one inch apart. The batt is fairly puffy. |
